Don't you just love a good old mix of uses when it comes to decorating? I find it so refreshing to move things around at home and find new, alternative uses to objects that often neglected or not being shown the amount of love they truly deserve, or in this case, probably forgotten at the back of a cabinet.
That being said, a kitchen is usually the room that holds most of the items that can be repurposed in a different way than their designated use and I'm almost 100% sure that most of you have some of the below objects in your cabinets or on your shelves right now.
So, how can you use your existing kitchenware to decorate your home? Here are some quick ideas:
A salad bowl
Use as: centerpiece on the coffee table, on a bookcase shelf or on the media console
Use as: a vase, a decorative item with sculptural properties
A lidded jar
Use as: small stuff storage, a vase, store office supplies on the desktop, keep jewelry on the dresser
A tumbler
Use as: a votive, a bud vase, store pens on the desktop
A small bowl
Use as: a trinket bowl, a decorative accent on top of a stack of books on a shelf
A bottle or carafe
Use as: a vase, display a palm leaf or dried plants
A cutting or cheese board
Use as: a bed tray, coral decorative objects on shelf or table
A tablecloth
Use as: a summer throw for the sofa, armchair or bed, an impromptu curtain for a window
A tray or a large platter
Use as: a decorative accent hung or leaning on the wall, open storage for mail, headphones, hand cream and other small everyday objects in the living room or entry
A champagne bucket
Use as: a vase for large floral arrangements or plush dried grass bouquets
