I'm not sure if it's a thing here in Greece but we never actually decorated with wreaths during Christmas in our home. Such a pity, such a pity indeed. We kept that beautiful tradition for May and general spring frivolities while we never took advantage of how the evergreens wrapped around a hoop bring joy and comfort in a wintery scene. It might just be for the reason that we actually do not have the typical evergreens in Heraklion but then again there are so many alternatives that can be used to make festive (or every day for that matter) wreaths like
rosemary,
eucalyptus and olive branches so no excuse.
Anyway, there are probably hundreds (thousands) of pretty wreaths flooding the internet these days that one can make a whole blog dedicated to them. So much inspiration! While I do have a crammed folder with saved photos of all sorts of wreath styles, I'm really attracted to the asymmetrical ones that I come across all too often lately. They have this unrefined, handmade elegance, an easy breezy feel, though I can tell some of them were not that simple to make. What do you think? Do you like this style of wreaths? Would you have one for your Christmas decor?
