Concrete floor is currently my favorite type of flooring (I even used it in my latest
interior design project!). It is easy to the eye, easier to maintain, quite affordable to place on your home and has tons of finishes and variations to pick from. I won't be dealing with the technical pros and cons in this post (there's actually a pretty good article on
Houzz you can read more about), I just wanted to show you some images that justify my love for it. Far and furthermore, it is how it adds an understated, casual vibe to any interior being used, from a classic Parisian type apartment with high ceiling and moldings to the more contemporary country and minimalistic designs. Follow me, after the jump, for some gorgeous pin-worthy interiors with concrete floors.
Eleni I live in Greece and have wanted to add this to my staircase for the common stairs. I think the end result is sleek and gorgeous. But our architect says it would be too much of a strain on the building because of the earthquake situation. What do you think? Is he right or is he not up to date?
ReplyDeleteΓεια σου Μαίρη,
Deleteαυτό που περιγράφω σε αυτό το post είναι ουσιαστικά τα βιομηχανικά (χυτά) δάπεδα. Έχουν ελάχιστο πάχος (κάτι χιλιοστά) και μπορούν να μπουν πάνω από σχεδόν οποιοδήποτε έτοιμο δάπεδο (πχ πλακάκια). Οπότε δεν μπορώ να δω πως μπορούν να επιβαρύνουν στατικά την οικοδομή. Μήπως εννοεί κάτι άλλο ο αρχιτέκτονάς σας;
Φιλικά,
Ελένη
