Contemporary tropical backyard with Houseology | My Paradissi

My Paradissi is, quite literally, my online dream paradise. The sacred space where I project all my desires, likes and heartfelt needs (well, those that have to do with design and a stylish way of living anyway). Now that we are officially in the heart of summer I can’t help by flood this space with pretty outdoors, lustworthy yards and shady terraces, stunning pools and cozy relaxing hammocks. This year, I’m taking things a step further and, instead of just posting spaces I came across on the net, I decided to design one. A place that is completely streamlined to my current likings, the one that I see when I close my eyes and daydream.

The great deal with this story is that I had a dear ally to inspire me throughout the process. For this design, I had the pleasure to collaborate with Houseology, the new updated store formerly known as OCCA Home (we worked together in the past for this cozy holiday living room). The new store is so much more exciting! Apart from the amazing collection of furniture and home accessories, the exquisite services and customer support, you will find a great number of useful and very thorough how to guides, from decorating each room of your home to picking the right accents, textiles and paint as well as inspiring interviews from the pros.

The outdoor space I designed is a secluded backyard with a sleek contemporary design and tropical vegetation (who’s in for palm trees?). There are two levels separating the seating from the dining area and a small pool. A white wooden beam pergola, soon to be filled with greenery, is shading the seating area, which overlooks at the turquoise water pool. Two sunbeds on its end provide the perfect chilling out scenery for sunbathing or some carefree evening relaxation.

The extra long dining table on the teak deck is shaded by tall coconut palm trees and surrounded by linear pools of water for an extra touch of freshness. Oh, the parties and terrific dinners that would take place in that area, if only it were real!

I have to admit, I ever so often paused in front of the screen while putting this project together, with my mind drifted away into this easy breezy summer scenario. Had it not been for my baby breastfeeding, I swear I would finish this design with a few too many mojitos keeping me company ;)
