I've seen these mesh moodboard beauties around for a while, so I thought I'd put them all together in one post for future reference. Although it is not a typical diy post, as none of the photo links actually lands to a tutorial, the concept is quite simple for anyone to follow. Just grab a remesh sheet from your local hardware store the size you want, paint it black (or any other color whatsoever) or leave as is and hang it on your wall. Most examples, as you can see, are from home offices but I really dig the idea of using such a board in the kitchen, as shown at this amazing kitchen redo via A Beautiful Mess. See more ideas and examples after the jump. No one can really say no to an easy, budget friendly diy, right?

Dont know its modern or classic, i think its both. The domination of white and black feels so "peaceful". Beautiful minimalist blend. Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteLove this idea xx
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing Eleni
So your not going to show how to make it? just pictures of the internet..?
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry but I don't have a diy for that. It looks pretty simple to make, though; just buy a piece of iron mesh the size you like from a craft store and hang on the wall. You can either paint it or leave as is. Good luck!
DeleteThese look great. I'd love to do one but have never seen this mesh in craft or DIY stores. Do you know what it's typically used for, or what it's primary purpose is, as that might make it easier to track down?
ReplyDeleteThanks in advance.
Yes, it is mostly used for building construction and fencing. Hope that helps :)
DeleteI found some of this mesh today in the DIY store. Yay! Except it had an awful green PVC coating. Boo! Soooo, I've spent my evening stripping it off with a sharp knife which proved to be rather satisfying. And the mesh beneath turned out to be a sort of oil-rubbed bronze color, with a touch of silver, which is perfect for my place. Can't wait to hang it and start putting stuff on it! Thanks for these images and the inspiration. ;-)
ReplyDeleteGreat! So glad to hear that :D
DeleteHi this is so lovely, just wondering how you would hang it on the wall?
ReplyDeleteHello,
