San Giorgio Mykonos hotel: The room

Do you know this feeling of waking up in a white haze and still believe that you are dreaming? Well, that's how my mornings in San Giorgio Mykonos hotel were like. Only the white mist was actually an aethereal sheer canopy and the room too pretty to be mistaken for paradise. I am not exaggerating. After tons of modern country interiors and neo rustic decor posted on this blog and social media, I tended to believe that these amazing interiors were almost too good to exist. And, then, when I first opened the door to our room I was ecstatic! It is true! San Giorgio is actually better in person. You can feel the harsh touch of the rattan and wicker, the sleekness of the stucco surfaces, the strong mediterranean sun sneaking through the windows and hear the palm trees swaying in the melody of the aegean breeze. It is a full senses experience and that what was all about. Literally living inside the bohemian luxury. 

Our room was a Veranda room located on the upper level with a terrace that overlooked to the sea (scroll down to see ;) The walls were this light beige that contrasted beautifully with the white windows and linens. The floors and bathroom were stucco and the ceiling was covered with white wooden planks. Furniture were from reclaimed wood or thrifted and pendant lamps over the side tables (stools) and rug were wicker. Loved all those details that made this room extra special, like the log curtain rod, the long and thin unrefined bench and the rag rug that gave that extra tone of color in an otherwise neutral room. I didn't take photos from the bathroom (please don't hate me) but I grant you it was equally gorgeous!
