After spending a good full hour browsing through the amazing homes showcased in Homelife, and an hour is quite a time when counted in megabytes, I finally decided which home I'd share with you today on the blog. It is no news that I totally adore the happy, breezy aesthetics of the Australians and today's home tour is just the case. Sun filled rooms are decorated with an exquisite use of color and pattern and an astounding mix of mid century and contemporary pieces in great balance and taste. Somehow, most australian homes carry this all-year-long vacation feeling I can't say no to, especially now that the days have become too warm and big to ignore. And, there is this seamless connection of the inside with the outside with the xl windows and the all green yards surrounding the building that makes things even juicier. An eye candy, I tell ya friends, an eye candy..

I love the tables from the side of the garden. It must be cool to have my snacks there.
ReplyDeleteI also love the rustic looking one and the comfy bed.
I love the idea of having a semi-open area somewhere in the house. Especially in the sitting room area or the bathroom. There's just something to be said for a natural stropical feel..
ReplyDeleteIt's difficult to get the tropical look inside the house in Sydney sometimes - it requires such a fine balance of letting sunshine in but yet having a good insulation facility so that it doesn't get too hot/cold depending on the season.
ReplyDeleteIt really looks as if there's a nice open air to everything once you move a bit of plants into the house and shift around the storage boxes and rearrange the furniture to let light in. Very nicely done!
