Villa Kalos in Ithaca, Greece ©Robbert Koene

The closer we approach to spring the worse the weather gets over here (hey, Murfy, get out of the way please). It's funny that I'm posting this amazing villa today, for the gloomy skies have nothing to do with the clear blue one we're used to have as a background to such places. Anyway, Villa Kalos is located in Ithaca, a small island in the Ionian sea (for the ancient greek history: Ithaca was the homeland of Odysseus) and its contemporary interpretation of the greek island architecture stole my heart the moment I saw it on Est Magazine the other day. What was once an abandoned stone house is now a hip shelter to the souls of the beauty seekers, the dreamers, the lovers of the nature and peace, thanks to its artistic owners Gerda Genis and Robbert Koene, photographers coming from South Africa. Oh, there is everything that's expected to be found there; exposed concrete, built in cabinetry, unrefined woods and stone. And, the most serene surroundings to be found. Bliss ^^
