I always found a subtle similarity between the scandinavian design approach and the cycladic architecture. It must be the clean white forms, the brightness, the simplicity and the sparsity of decorations to blame. This place, designed by Norwegian architect John Lassen, is a bit more closer to the typical interior design we come across Santorini or Mykonos than the ones in its own surroundings in Denmark. It has an amazing contradiction even to its own exterior (scroll down to see what I mean). The indoor hosts a sleek arched ceiling that references to a typical cycladic cave villa and a statement wooden ladder that guides you to the mezzanine (doesn't this setting reminds you of this home in Santorini?) The wooden surfaces on walls and furniture, along with the off white textiles of the rugs and sofas, add warmth and transform the home into a welcoming, cozy space.
