I'm not much of a romantic girl. I certainly love lace, shabby chic and all that just not that much to take them home with me. But. When all these are created under a country chic vail everything seems to be different. They get more straight forward, more brutal; like they get some masculine characteristics that wipe the sugary feminine ones away. Exactly what happens with Masseria Tenuta Potenti in Puglia, southern Italy.
I was totally smitten by the amount of drapes in the interior and, frankly, they were the reason I looked more about this stunning little villa. I mean, built in beds and furniture with stucco arched canopies, fireplace in the bedroom and and stone floorings, that's my kind of thing for sure! No wonder this place rocks; the tastefully renovated building exists all the way back from the 16th century. Back when people knew how to make really thick walls and small windows. So mediterranean. Love its exteriors too. More drapes, stairs and columns create porches and form pathways round the pool and the building. It reminds me a bit of the moroccan aesthetics but that's a bit obvious; Morocco is only some km away on the other side of the sea. I have to admit that I'd love to spend a few days there to absorb some of the tranquility it emerges and, why not, act like the little country girl that's deeply in love ^^

Puglia is an amazing place to visit, you'll find gorgeous sea and country and superb food. There's a completely different, relaxed lifestyle there.

ReplyDeleteI love Masseria Potenti! Siamo pugliesi e adoriamo questo luogo, infatti lo consigliamo alle nostre coppie come luogo per il loro matrimonio. Ma bisogna considerare anche l'aspetto culinario, la signora Maria Grazia è una gran cuoca. :)

In questo luogo si respira la vera essenza della vita pugliese, dalla semplicità, l'ospitalità, il rispetto della natura. E' da considerare inoltre l'aspetto culinario, la signora Maria Grazie è una gran cuoca. Dovete sapere che qui in Puglia si è molto legati alla terra, alle tradizioni e quindi a uno stile di vita molto semplice. Penso che questo rappresenti una fortuna per noi ed è bello condividerlo con gli altri.
