I'd like to show you around my living room today. I had the chance to style it up a bit this weekend a take a few shots to post on the blog (most of you had a small peak yesterday). I've said it before, I'm quite shy when it comes to showing off but I'm really happy with my home and I'd love to share that with you.
It is a typical greek 70ies apartment that once was separated onto smaller rooms. See the white mosaic line on the floor? There used to be walls there (you can only imagine how tiny and dark the different rooms where). So, I took down the walls and created a larger and brighter open plan living room that hosts the dining room and B's home office as well.
After the demolishing of the walls I still needed some room divider to create the two different living zones (lounging and eating/working) but I wanted to keep the visual connection of those two. I used a simple wooden bookcase to do accomplish that and filled it up with interior plants to bring out a refreshing vibe.
Most of the furniture and accessories in my apartment are either thrifted or old, family possessions or, a few of them, handmade. I try to keep a fairly low budget on my styling, these are rough times we're going through, and I strongly believe that decoration is all about the way of thinking and creating and not how much you spend on designer items. My most valuable decor items are definitely my little plants, scattered as you can see all around the place.

P.s. See more photos of my home here.

ReplyDeleteΚαλημερα. Διαβαζω το my paradisi καθημερινα αλλά πρωτη φορα΄νομίζω σχολιάζω και αφορμη είναι το υπέροχο σπίτι σου Ελένη. Πραγματικά μου θυμισε σπίτι που βλεπουμε σε περιοδικα΄. όμορφο με χαρακτήρα και με τόσο απλά πράγματα. Συγχαρητήρια. Και θα ήθελα οδηγίες για τα καλύμματα των καναπέδων αν είναι εύκολο. Είναι ραμμένα ή έιναι υφάσματα που με καποιο δεξιοτεχνικό τρόπο τα τοποθέτησες;

I love your room! Especially all the plants and the pillows on the floor...I'm definitely shy too when it comes to sharing my house, but I'm inspired to get it camera-ready and share a little tour too :)
ReplyDeleteThose strawberries remind me of this food art jar! Would be such a nice touch in one of these rooms!
