Summer house in Paros, Cyclades

Greek islands architecture

Let's go on a virtual tour to a most beautiful Aegean island, Paros, and gather up tons of sunny warmness and turquoise freshness (all virtually, of course). There lays an impressive summer house, designed by architect Alexandros Logodotis. Curvy, smooth, formed with the familiar cycladic architecture in mind, this place seems to be the ideal island hideout for the coming summer. I have to admit, though, that the interior design is not exactly my cup of tea (a bit to contemporary for my taste) but I definitely dig the buit-in stucco furniture, the different levels inside the house, the magnificent views and the pops of color now and then.
What do you think of it? I'd love to know!

P.s. An impressive cycladic hotel.

  3. Cycladic architecture fascinates and inspires me so much. There is something about all the whitewash, the curves and the magic they create inside, forming nooks and little caves. While it is common of locals to use somehow eclectic interiors and furniture, it is often cozy, earthy and warm enough to feel like home. But I see some cases where the eclectic is translated into modern or contemporary, making the interior a total disappointment after being excited by the beautiful exteriors. I think foreign people and especially designers/architects tend to do this more often with their houses in the islands. Somehow this one manages to be right on the edge for my taste, holding onto a light light stream of balance. I love everything you mentioned about it! Thanks for sharing.
    Have a great sunny week!
