A big, ceiling high bookcase, with infinite amount of books, has got to be one of my very first dream home assets. I love the warmth, the texture and the wise attitude they bring to any space plus the hours of entertainment they provide. Hmm, not quite true.
I used to read books and bought them like crazy (I had a bookcase to fill, you see) but as I went deeper the internet rabbit hole this seems to have stopped. I spend hours reading in front of the screen and when it comes to leisure time I find it difficult to grab a book and read again. I know, a book is irreplaceable, a classical virtue, a best friend, but the never ending resources of the net plus its multimedia usage and its interactivity is more likely my cup of tea.
So, a crammed bookcase is still a dream, however, not a near future possibility. Aren't they a bliss to look at, nonetheless?

ReplyDeleteWell, I had a lot more of books when we lived in Iceland. I'm slowly adding to my collection again but also using the library. I'm always reading 2-4 books at a time and one day I plan to have that books-from-floor-to-ceiling thing going on ;-)

ReplyDeleteI am a book nerd, absolutely. I got my own bookcase and I love to have kind of my own libary :) But I am also a fan of browsing through the internt, reading stuff. But to me reading a book is much more intense and i kinda like that :)
