We took the car and headed to Youchtas mountain yesterday. It is a small mountain that, at a certain angle, looks like a leaning man's head (the myth speaks of Zeus sleeping there), next to Heraklion. We drove up until the middle of the way and then we went trekking. God, it feels so good to have your lungs filled with oxygen and the smells of thyme and sage. After we reached the top, we had a picnic with the company of the eagles and enjoyed the amazing view of the vineyards, the olive trees and the small villages that extended to the sea. In the second to last photo you can see the city of Heraklion laying next to the shore.
Such an invigorating trip it was!
