Fold it: upon a fold

Saturday, March 3, 2012

Japanese people have this habit of wrapping things with cloth to carry them around or store them away (they have cloths named Furoshiki and Tenugui- hope I got that well, my Japanese friends!). Our grandparents used to do the same with the food they took with them while working outdoors in the fields (long time ago, before plastic bags were discovered..). Me, nowadays, find it utterly practical and eco-friendly (and definitely stylish) to use beautifully illustrated fabrics to store away food and stuff or even wrap a present. And these cuties I found over at upon a fold sure make the whole process way more interesting!
Would you consider picking fabric over plastic and paper?
Oh, and as you can see, these amazing cloths have lot more uses than wrapping!
