Country living

Saturday, June 11, 2011

I might be a hopeless dreamer but I can't stop imagining myself living in a cottage somewhere in the Cretan mountains, a few minutes drive from the sea. I'm thinking that, nowadays, with the help of technology and while bearing an open mind it is easier to live far from civilization without feeling totally cut off. Is that really possible? I'd love to hear your point of view and your real life stories or experiences if you have any!

  2. i live in the country side in Norway - but just 10 min drive from the closest city- a very small city indeed- and 40 min drive from Oslo ( which is not that big either!) i feel it has been the best choice we ever made. our kids enjoy a freedom that one rarely finds today. the forest is just outside our door and yesterday we saw a baby deer outside the window. its always fun to visit the city- either Oslo or Athens in Greece- and although Athens carries a lot of sentiments for me- is always good to know its only a visit. what matters is to feel that you belong. it doesn`t matter where.

  3. I love the earthy rusticity of the rooms in these photos! We live on a small island in Mexico called Isla Mujeres. The internet keeps me and my guests connected with friends around the world. I am new to your blog and really enjoying it!
