My New Year resolutions for a blissful home

Styling Greydeco, photography Jonas Berg via Stadshem

When it comes to resolutions, it is the small changes that have an impact and actually make a difference. Those simple, everyday things that you can follow with no fuss are the ones that uplift the quality of your life and, in the end, make you feel proud for actually sticking to a resolution plan. Speaking for myself, these are the New Year home resolutions I'd love to embrace on 2016 (truth is, I already try to follow many of them, why wait ;). Does any of these ring a bell? Will you follow along?

THE ROOM: Contemporary bathroom

Contemporary bathroom with white penny tiles, design by Formafatal

How impressive is this bathroom all covered in white penny tile with black grout? This bold move, embellished with minimalistic black and brass fixtures, sleek wood cabinetry and a statement brass bowl sink, is the recent design work of Dagmar Štěpánová of Formafatal in Prague. Feels like a scenery from a sci-fi movie, a place sprung from a high-tech home of the future, don't you think?

Moody bedrooms to cuddle in

Photo by Johanne Dueholm, Scandinavian Love Song
Photo by Johanne Dueholm, Scandinavian Love Song via here

They are fresh and clean, they are simple and clutter free, they definitely have an exquisite scandinavian vibe and, on top of the above, these bedrooms sure have this distinctive moody atmosphere that makes you wanna stay under those crisp beddings for lot longer than an after Christmas Monday allows. Now, imagine pouring rain out of the window (snowfall would do too), the smell of fresh coffee waiting for you and favorite music playing in the background. You instantly have the ultimate excuse to call in sick and prolong the holiday atmosphere a bit more (those of you that have the week till end of the year off, hey, you lucky you ;) Happy new week, last week of the year! xoxo

..slow moments, long breakfasts, me-time, family-time, friend-time, unplugging, relaxing, rejoicing, book reading, magazine reading, tea drinking, chocolate drinking, smiling, dancing, sleeping, sleeping, cocooning, open fire watching, stars counting, long strolls, hikes and bikes, laughter, legs up, pampering, hot baths, sleeping, hugging, chit chatting, unwrapped presents, ceiling gazing, candle lights, cinnamon scent, orange scent, chocolate and, did I mention sleeping (ehem)?

The Weekend

Scandinavian minimalist Christmas decor | Image via vittvittvitt

● A cheese paddle to steal the show on your New Year's table setting.
● Stacking firewood under the stairs, the scandinavian kind of way.
● Do you like puzzles? Then you'll adore this 3d one.
● Endless browsing bliss.
● After I (try to) spend a few days sugar free to detox from the Christmas/party madness, I'm definitely making these..
● ..or skip detoxing altogether and indulge in this awesomeness.
● This wall lamp, OMG.
● Such a sweet animation.
● This wreath, I'd keep all year long.
Cardigan love.

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas by My Paradissi

Merry Christmas, dear friends, though I truly I hope you're all somewhere celebrating/enjoying/relaxing/doing-what-your-heart-pleases instead of reading this post. It's been a long long week over here and I just realised I haven't posted since Sunday but it was for a good reason. It was my baby boy's first birthday on Wednesday and we threw a big party over here. It was a blast! Surrounded by loved ones is the best kind of gift one might wish for and, I admit, after that celebration, Christmas is just a mere passtime ;) Anyway, I'm taking advantage of the gorgeous spring weather and relax a bit more before getting back on track coming days and deal with all the todo lists and mails (so sorry, I will reply to you, you know who, soon ^^). So, go on, enjoy! xoxo

P.S. Although a tradition nearly vanished, we used to decorate ships for Christmas here in Greece, hence that pretty little clay ship on my cousin's wall.

THE ROOM: Modern country bathroom

Modern country bathroom via Micasa

Really couldn't miss this gorgeous modern rustic bathroom I spotted yesterday in this equally impressive farmhouse in Malaga (which, by the way, is beautifully decorated for Christmas in a understated country kind of way and feels so impeccably cozy- check it out!). Love the smooth curved washed out walls ending on a beige tadelakt floor, the built in shower cabin and the high sloped roof with the white beams. The natural finishes, both in accessories and textiles, have an almost golden hue that adds warmth and depth in the space. Also, love the use of various baskets under the sink to substitute the use of missing closed storage. Enjoy!

6 natural inspired gift wrapping ideas

6 natural inspired gift wrapping ideas | My Paradissi

I know I love simple and natural Christmas decorations and, by the overwhelming amount of shares of this post (and also this and that one), I am also sure that you love them as much as I do. Thankfully, the natural decorating trend is wildly growing and a great deal of amazing crafters and bloggers share their stunning ideas for us to be inspired and follow their lead. For that matter, here are 6 pretty ideas on how to wrap a present with really everyday (and affordable) materials and make it look like a work of art. All it needs is that piece of greenery to add interest and character. And lots lots of love :)

Atmospheric home with industrial rustic charm

Atmospheric home with industrial rustic charm | My Paradissi

What do you get when you mix the Italian charm and sense of good life with the rough details of industrial and rustic design? Oh, you get heaven. Or, at least a home that looks really really like it. This house, designed by Pietro Castagna, is a renovated property dating back to the 1600s and is located in Pescallo village on the shores of lake Como. The interiors have a sophisticated elegance created by the original architecture, the blend of high quality materials like leather, linens and woods and the incredible collections of art and books present in all rooms. Also, I love the muted neutral color choices coming from the use of natural finishes and the mix and match of contemporary and vintage objects. A feast for the eyes I tell ya! Enjoy :)
