Chic contemporary apartment in Rome

Chic contemporary apartment in Rome. Design by Quincoces Drago & Partners

Love the warm elegance and the delicate feminine vibe of this Italian apartment designed by Quincoces Drago & Partners. Sleek minimalist design contrasts the gorgeous arched windows and the classic view of the city of Rome while the wood and neutral hues and the soft textiles bring an understated coziness in the space that smoothens the strict contemporary details. Impressed by the interior? The facade of the building is a real gem too (scroll down to last pic ;). Enjoy!

The room: Cozy b&w kitchen

Cozy b&w kitchen by Ivelina of Frichic

Ok, now this is a kitchen that I admit I'm totally head over heels about (I mean totally). It belongs to Ivelina, blogger behind Frichic, and although located in Bulgaria captures 100% the minimalist, black and white and surprisingly cozy atmosphere of a scandinavian interior. I'm overly smitten by the amazing ceiling lighting, I dig the idea of a wire basket to store magazines and extra throws for chiller days and, definitely I'm all for sheepskin on mesh chairs. What really stole my heart, however, are all those everyday items that are incredibly cute (check cloud sponge, house cutting boards, the eames miniature on the shelf above the sink and the cool patterned iron board) that get the room from wow to omg that's awesome. Enjoy :)

Showers with a rustic charm

Showers with a rustic charm | My Paradissi

There is something irresistible with the unrefined shower spaces. Maybe it has to do with a subconscious connection of the water and the natural surroundings, I don't know, but tadelakt, bare concrete, stone slabs and aged woods look so good inside a bathroom. Some might argue that such surfaces are the exact thing that make a bathroom less clean and healthy but it is this exact roughness that makes it so appealing. In any case, large openings that allow fresh air to help the space dry and breathe sure make a difference. Also, such bathrooms are more appropriate in summer homes or ones that are not of a daily use. Below are some of my favorite examples of such showers, to inspire or just to admire :)

Eclectic home with bohemian touches in LA

Eclectic home with bohemian touches in LA | Design by Amber Lewis. Photo by Tessa Neustadt

If I had one designer to help me out with my home project, that would definitely be Amber Lewis (more proof here and here). I mean, geez, that girl holds the key to the mix and match formula and has definitely magic powers that secretly uses to transform any place from blah to super oh-my-god heaven on earth. How can so many patterns create a smooth and relaxing result and by no means feel overwhelming and confusing? You go ask Amber. How can all those vintage and rustic accents lead to a fresh and contemporary design? Amber knows how. Actually, there is no need for words, check out the images of this amazing LA home she decorated, after the jump.

We have moved into our new home yesterday and life is still a total mess.
