● Would you live with a large tree inside your living room?
● A travel buddy with sophistication and attitude.
These shots just make me feel so good.
Detox popsicles? Why the heck not?
● Ok. That's bizarre.
● Lazy tunic for long hours of relaxation.

10 backyard pools to steal your heart

10 backyard pools to steal your heart

First of all, please, dear Universe, let me have a backyard. Then, would that be a problem to add a cute little pool in it? Not big and fancy stuff; a small tub like pool, recessed or not, with crystal turquoise waters to keep me refreshed during my work breaks (working from home can be all that extra fun in that case ;) To make things easier for you, dear Universe, just pick any of the following designs. They are all so perfectly perfect for my taste ^^

Ceiling light jewels for the home

Michael Anastasiades for Flos via here
Michael Anastasiades for Flos via here
I love to  think of ceiling lamps as jewelry for the home. More precisely, pendant and chandelier lamps do to an interior exactly what the earrings do to a woman; they complete the outfit (read: design) by adding character to a given style. How different would a neutral room feel with a crystal chandelier or a minimal brass pendant lamp hanging from the ceiling? For that matter, I had fun putting together a list of gorgeous lamps and their respective earrings for 5 different style types including warm metals, elegant pearls, raw crystals, geometric golds and minimal blacks. Follow me, after the jump, for some home to self style inspiration!

LOVE or NOT: Minimalistic black kitchens

LOVE or NOT: Minimalistic black kitchens

In terms of leading a simple life, I'm more and more into sleek and clutter free spaces. Monochrome is a sure way to accomplish a visually coherent look with neutral shades stealing the show when it comes to sophisticated results. White has been all over the place lately and, although I am a dearest fan of its pure and bright finish, black surfaces are starting to draw my attention as well.

Today, I'd like to share with you 10 kitchens with an elegant contemporary design basically consisting of black cabinetry, splashbacks and/or floors. I love to check on the details of each one of these kitchens and imagine myself cooking in one of them. Quite truthfully, I'm not sure I'd cope with such a minimalistic environment no matter how much I'd wish for that to happen (a clean countertop and spotless surfaces sound like a bliss but not a daily possibility in a busy family life). The abundance of cabinetry and the sparse, if any, use of open shelving sure does help towards this direction.

I'd love to hear your thoughts on having a black minimalistic kitchen. Have you tried it or would you consider having one in a future home?

Gorgeous modern country home in Ibiza

Can Xicu, Ibiza. Design by Blakstad

Who's in for a stunning modern country property? One with whitewashed stucco surfaces, built in cabinetry and shelves, unrefined woods for ceilings, doors and cabinets, concrete floors and an inspiring minimalistic approach to the design? Oh, I'm definitely in! This home, designed by Blakstad is like coming out of my wildest design dreams. It feels so airy and spacious, understated yet brimming with character and a sophisticated global flair. Love how the light flows into the space like seamlessly sneaking from the ceiling and that long streamlined kitchen with the fireplace. Check out this gem, right after the jump!

Cool scandinavian loft

Image via Bo LKV

This bedroom, oh, I'm so in love with this bedroom! So fresh, simple, casual and totally welcoming. The wall to wall mirror door wardrobe reflecting the glass protecting panels only enhances the bright feeling as it visually expands the space of the loft. Did I forget to mention? This bedroom is on the loft of the equally gorgeous home of Jutta, member of the Bo LKV team. A typical scandinavian interior, with its black and white intensity, the subtle neutral touches, the minimalistic forms and the ample negative space that brims with an effortless style. Love the desk area, looks like a gorgeous little spot to concentrate on work projects. And that mattress on the floor substituting the bed; so perfect to get lazy on to on Sunday mornings. Check out a few more shots of this bedroom as well as from the rest of the home, after the jump!

DECOR TREND: Wooden bathroom stool

DECOR TREND: Wooden bathroom stool

No matter how big or small your bathroom is, a wooden stool always fits inside. Same way, no matter what decor style your bathroom is, a wooden stool is sure to add a touch of natural beauty to it. A vintage unrefined piece brings a rustic vibe while one with a sleek contemporary design leans toward more scandinavian eclectic interiors. Seems like this little piece of furniture is one of the most practical and stylish additions one can make to a bathroom. Perfect to hold stacks of towels, soaps and accessory trays as a smart accent table or just stand by as a secondary seating for various needs. Check, after the jump, 10 images of inspiration of some pretty amazing bathrooms sporting gorgeous wooden stools. Enjoy :)

Gorgeous bright home in California

Interior design by Amber Lewis, photo by Tessa Neustadt

When I come across houses that brim with positive vibes and have a bedroom larger than my entire apartment, I can't help but share them here on the blog. I don't know how I even missed this place, posted on Domaine over 6 months ago, as it is actually too good not to spot on pinterest or any other social platform (although that tile fireplace does ring a bell). Anyway, this californian home is a remarkable design done by interior designer Amber Lewis (check out the befores here). It has class, elegance, it is easy going and bright, has texture, pattern and a really positive energy as I mentioned at the beginning. And a bedroom to die for. Ah, that bedroom *sigh. Check out the images after the jump! xoxo

Brass pipe bathroom fixtures

Image by Brooke Holm for Share Design
Image by Brooke Holm for Share Design via here
Ever considered that bare pipes in the bathroom can lead to a strictly industrial result? Check out these beauties then. The smart choice of the surrounding materials (like marble and gorgeous pebble floors, mosaic tiles and pretty vintage mirror) as well as a bright color palette definitely prove otherwise. The brass finish of the pipes works towards this casual elegant direction too. Love the subtle unrefined touch they add to the decor and how seamlessly they blend with the rest of the design. What do you think? Would you use bare pipes as bathroom fixtures?
