In terms of leading a simple life, I'm more and more into sleek and clutter free spaces. Monochrome is a sure way to accomplish a visually coherent look with neutral shades stealing the show when it comes to sophisticated results.
White has been all over the place lately and, although I am a dearest fan of its pure and bright finish, black surfaces are starting to draw my attention as well.
Today, I'd like to share with you 10 kitchens with an elegant contemporary design basically consisting of black cabinetry, splashbacks and/or floors. I love to check on the details of each one of these kitchens and imagine myself cooking in one of them. Quite truthfully, I'm not sure I'd cope with such a minimalistic environment no matter how much I'd wish for that to happen (a clean countertop and spotless surfaces sound like a bliss but not a daily possibility in a busy family life). The abundance of cabinetry and the sparse, if any, use of open shelving sure does help towards this direction.
I'd love to hear your thoughts on having a black minimalistic kitchen. Have you tried it or would you consider having one in a future home?

While I love the look of these kitchens, I'm afraid in my own home I'm a white kitchen kind of girl!
ReplyDeleteThis is definitely a bold look. I actually really like the look of the black cabinets. I think it goes well with bright white countertops and accessories.

ReplyDeleteFabulous! Just painted my kitchen cabinets Graphite Chalk Paint® and love the darker look.
ReplyDeleteThis is my dream. Two ends of the spectrum: either a laboratory, antiseptic all-white kitchen, or a minimalist black one. Lovely post! It's as if you pulled this collage out of my brain! Such beautiful images.
