ARt wall
Art wall ©Line Klein

I'm keeping it short this Friday, designwise, with a couple of art walls that captured my heart. I shared with you yesterday, in this post, how badly I want an impressive wall in my dream living room, filled with multiple curated art prints, varying from typographic artworks, drawings, photography e.t.c. Well, count these two on my wishlist too.

And now the fun part of the post. A celebration. And a giveaway. Janee of Yellow Bird + Yellow Beard is having her 3rd blogiversary today and gathered a bunch of great bloggers to celebrate this event with a ginormous giveaway. One lucky winner is about to get a $400 gift card to spend on a store of their choice from Target, JetBlue, Tiffany's, Etsy or Amazon. The best thing is that the giveaway is open worldwide and there are many many entries to take advantage of. You can use the Rafflecopter gadget below to enter. Good luck!

My home, my paradise #4 | My Paradissi

Today I dream about an eclectic downtown apartment. An open plan medium-sized apartment with ample sunlight, wooden floors with wide planks and subtle ceiling moldings. The walls are white but the accents and furnishings have colors; a mix of muted and brighter ones. It is eclectic, fancy, casual and has a positive vibe. It is more suitable for a single career lady than for a family. In it there would definitely be..

7 creative dining room lighting ideas | My Paradissi

I guess it is quite obvious by now that I rate home lighting really high. I mean, proper lighting is the way to turn a house into a home. So, after picking the right lighting fixtures for your bedroom last week, I decided to do another post, this time about the dining space. Usually, there is this big surface of the table in the middle of a equally large room that needs to be lit up. The easiest way to do so is to hang a pendant lamp right over it. We love that. But, there are more fun ways than that to create an atmosphere in the dining room even with the lights switched off. I'm about to share with you 7 ways that this can be done with more than just a pendant and can be used even if your dining table is not your average one or laying in the middle of the room. See more after the jump ^^

Round Crete: Silent seascapes

Round Crete: Silent seascapes in Analipsi Hersonissos | My Paradissi © Eleni Psyllaki

Going through the photos I took last weekend from a daytrip to Analipsi village, I found these few I'd like to share with you. Analipsi is a northern coastal village outside Heraklion (just before Hersonissos, if you're familiar with it) and is mostly a touristic place. That means that during summertime it gets crowded with people and in winter there is silence and stillness all around. I love this contradiction that's going on on this island throughout the year; to watch the landscapes change under the burden of hordes of visitors and the emptiness of the sometimes sweet winter days.

Etsy collection of vintage and handmade homeware in blue and red | My Paradissi

The theme of today's etsy mix post is all about blue and red (obviously), a color combo which quite truthfully reminds me of school days. This one is way far from them, however, (with the exclusion of maybe this journal) and has more of a folkloric touch in it, given by the swedish dala horse and the modernised kantha quilt. The inspiration of this style board was definitely the (super) impressive 50ies armchair and its amazing upholstery combo of blue white florals and folk geometric patterns on red background. Ha! I want this chair (or any other chair from Name Design Studio for that matter) in my living room asap. Such a pity it is way off my budget =/

Shop this collection: 1.Bay armchair (Name Design Studio, $1,500), 2.Vintage blue corn flower mugs (BeeJayKay, $22 for a set of 4), 3.Ceramic heart bowl (Susan Simonini, $19.90), 4.Indigo block print queen kantha quilt (Live Love Smile, $126.21), 5.Swedish vintage Nils Olsson big red Dala Horse (Sweden Folk Art, $57), 6.Leather journal (Jackdaw Bindery, $32.37)

Masseria Tenuta Potenti, Italy

I'm not much of a romantic girl. I certainly love lace, shabby chic and all that just not that much to take them home with me. But. When all these are created under a country chic vail everything seems to be different. They get more straight forward, more brutal; like they get some masculine characteristics that wipe the sugary feminine ones away. Exactly what happens with Masseria Tenuta Potenti in Puglia, southern Italy.

DIY: Gold moon wall mural

Friday, January 24, 2014
How to make a diy gold moon wall mural tutorial by Laura Gummerman for A Beautiful Mess.

Here's a fancy diy to help you add a somehow sophisticated golden touch into your space. Looks like a wall sticker but it is actually a large mural made with golden paint. It's not as hard as it seems and actually doesn't need you to be an artist; it does require, however, a projector so you can project the draft illustration on the wall. See the tutorial made by Laura Gummerman on A Beautiful Mess .

P.s. Prefer spending than drawing? Check out these golden little heart stickers and these golden polka dots stickers then. This full moon wall sticker look cool too!

A dream home cottage in the countryside | My Paradissi

How about visiting the countryside today? There lays my (dream) home, a stone cottage with high ceiling interiors, exposed stone walls, happy bohemian colors and an amazing yard. I'm completely smitten with its exterior space with all the vigorous trees and plants, the blooming bougainvilleas, the velvet green grass or the refreshing small pool. I love to spend hours under the straw pergola, hiding from the bright sunrays, enjoying the view. Come on, let me show you around. I'm sure you're gonna love it too, as my dream home has..

Lighting fixtures for 4 bedroom styles

Choose the right lighting fixtures for your bedroom style | My Paradissi

Ever wondered what the best lighting fixtures for your bedroom are? The ones that will provide you with the proper light ambience yet enhance the style of the room at the same time? Of course, you are =) Picking a lamp that will complement the decor of a space is not necessarily a challenging task. It gets a bit tricky, though, when you have to combine a bunch of them and still stay on your style path. To sorten things out a bit, I'll be dealing with 4 different bedroom styles on this post with the hope to inspire as many of you as possible. The categories of lighting fixtures I'm choosing are table lamps for your nightstand, a pendant lamp for the ceiling and a floor lamp for a corner of the room, next to an armchair, vanity or whatever. Follow me after the jump to see what I've picked for each decor style.

ETSY MIX: Heart of gold

Shop handmade golden heart accessories and more for Valentine's day via Etsy

It's not that I'm already inspired by Vday (which practically is unavoidable since inspiration is just about everywhere on the internet) but I felt like sharing with you some golden love today. Like I said, there are cute little hearts all over the place these days, so I picked a few bearing my favorite metallic shade for this post. To lighten things up a bit I've used some neon orange and pink details, like the cactus planter, that I find they look gorgeous with the gold pieces. Don't you agree?

Shop this collection: 1. Solid brass cubic wall hook (Light + Ladder, $50), 2.Gold sequin number (Miss Poppy Design, $27.91), 3.14K gold faceted heart ring (Every Bear Jewel, $169), 4.Tiny 14K gold heart studs (Made by Maru, $20), 5.Asphalt planter vase in neon orange (The Good Machinery, $32), 6.Gold glitter heart print (Paperfelt shop, $18.68)

San Giorgio Mykonos bohemian luxury design hotel

Would you like to join me for a dream escape today? The sun is shining in a clear blue sky and nothing feels like winter here anymore. Alas, this is far from the truth, in a couple of days dark clouds and chilly temperatures will come back again but the spring like atmosphere has already touched a soft spot inside my heart; too late for me to stop dreaming of idyllic places, chillout moments and that warm sunrays lazily stroking my tanned skin on a chaise by the pool.
