These are the days that, each year, I get butterflies in my stomach when I come across homes that bring out this sort of country chillness. It's not about the architecture or the design (well, it is, but not only that), it is the feeling these images bring out that speaks right into my heart. The calmness, the gentle way the sun sneaks through the openings, the sunwashed stonewalls, the surviving cacti and the sparkling pool waters, the shady nooks and the sturdy earthly surfaces, the promise of silence and relaxation. I know I'm not being objective, for these scenes remind me of my carefree childhood summers I love/need to live again each coming year. A long prologue, but now you know why I had no second thoughts on sharing with you the photos of this single family house in Es Llombards in Mallorca designed by SMS Arquitectos. I'm not posting the interior, as it is not exactly my style (not bad either, check it out here), it is the outdoors that got my attention in the first place. What do you think?
