How do you fit a family of three in a 600 square foot apartment? You carefully study the needs and daily habits of the inhabitants and design accordingly. And, how do you make a tiny apartment not only practical but stylish and with a personality? You add statement pieces that serve function but also that have a story to tell. Hmm, and how do you do that on a tight budget? You get your hands dirty and diy a lot. Sounds challenging? You just have to tour around Susanna Vento's apartment in Helsinki to believe. Boy, isn't this place awesome! Petit yet incredibly sweet, dived into the bw/bold color contrasting scandi design, crammed with smart projects that she and her also creative husband made. A string of lights brighten up the dining spot whereas a handmade colorful bunting adds happy colors along with postcards and prints attached on the walls with washi tape. Susanna definitely holds the know-how to a seamless everyday eclectic house: “As an interior designer I choose new designs for my clients, but for my own home, I tend to prefer crafty or old stuff. If I buy something, I want to buy only things that stand the test of time. But even better is to buy nothing at all and do-it-yourself!” Couldn't agree more on that!

I love this black and white apartment! Today I'm sharing a post about a 300 square foot apartment but fitting an entire family in 600 square feet is much more difficult. Also, I have the same dining room rug, only mine is in the living room!
ReplyDeleteSoooooooo cute!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteOk, I never would have guessed that this space was 600 square feet! It's such a great use of space.
