Would you like to join me for a dream escape today? The sun is shining in a clear blue sky and nothing feels like winter here anymore. Alas, this is far from the truth, in a couple of days dark clouds and chilly temperatures will come back again but the spring like atmosphere has already touched a soft spot inside my heart; too late for me to stop dreaming of idyllic places, chillout moments and that warm sunrays lazily stroking my tanned skin on a chaise by the pool.
This hotel was the first place that came into my mind. San Giorgio is a design hotel in Mykonos and you have probably seen it wandering around the internet quite a lot this past year. That's only fair; its laid back bohemian luxury is the perfect scenery to indulge into some unforgettable holiday easiness in style.
Nothing seems to be there by chance; every single decorative accent, furniture or architectural element is at the right place, all creating together a unified contemporary interpreted ethnic result. The sleek curved stucco surfaces, so typically cycladic, get spiced up with natural textiles, folkloric patterns, unrefined woods and woven rattans. The color palette is kept as simple as possible, mostly with neutral and warm shades and lots of black and white.
I could start naming all those details that have stolen my heart, like the amazing rattan pendants, the rustic stools, the moroccan detailed metalworks, the sheer white drapes of the canopy beds, the local references of the fabrics and accessories (so many komboloi hanging on the walls) but I'll just stick to that: how would you like to spend your San Giorgio getaway? Swaying on the hammock under the pergola shadow on your private terrace or cuddling with your love on the luxurious fresh bed and have the drapes around you swinging by the subtle aegean breeze?
