Just make it work: Home office
A stylish, personalized home office is crucial to get you motivated and inspired while working from your place. Here are 5 ideas on how you can make it work.
Use a task table as desk and a vintage school chair as your basic working furniture. Start on a white background and add some color with these amazing string lights (or these), a yellow desk lamp and a damijohn green bottle from your local market (in case you can't find one you can try this one).Tuesday, February 26, 2013
Raymond Barberousse

The brass lighting fixtures designed and manufactured by architect Raymond Barberousse are more of an artwork than a home accent in the classical way of speaking. And that, by no way means that you can't use them in your interiors; it's just that, when hanging from your ceiling, your place would have then climbed up the stylish stairs a few steps higher.

Colorful house in Sweden
Let's start this week with some color, shall we? This home in the swedish countryside is so happy and bright, that is such an energy booster for a hectic Monday. I love the pops of color that spread around in the rooms like a happy virus, the clever use of patterned wallpapers to highlight some of the walls and the playful atmosphere all the accessories, the toys and the textiles create. Even the kitchen drawers are painted in the sweetest pink you can find. Really, can anyone be actually sad while living in this place?

Sunday bliss (around Crete)
These are some photos I took yesterday while visiting an old, dilapidated village in the heart of the cretan mountains. The weather was just perfect to create a whimsical atmosphere, with thick white clouds and a bright sun to highlight the abandoned stone houses. There is a certain appeal in this old scenery, and in addition to the lifeless, empty of people streets, it almost reminds me of thriller movies scenes. I really wish such places to be renovated and restored; there is so much potential to it, if only money weren't an issue.

Inspire the weekend

Hello my friends, how are you?
I'm taking advantage of this weekend to combine business with pleasure and take an one day trip to an old village on the cretan mountains to examine up close the architecture of its dilapidated houses. Old stone houses that have been abandoned for decades seem to have a whimsical aura, a strong energy that makes my spine shiver. It is a pity that these houses are left to rotten; the renovation being too costly is almost a forbidden luxury to most of the citizens around here these days. Hopefully, things will change before it is too late.
On an other note, just on the verge of spring and warmer days, I thought I'd share with you a few bright, colorful shots to get you inspired. How about spending a lazy Sunday morning reading in the sunny room in the first shot? I love the kilim used on the floor and I definitely love the textures and patterns of the textiles in the second one.
Hope you enjoy your weekend! xoxo

Folder: Living room
I just love this tufted daybed and all the promising chill out hours on it. I also love the wire basket serving as a magazine storage and, to be totally honest, I only imagine how complete this scene would look with a warming fire burning in the fireplace.
P.s. This gray daybed would work equally well.

DIY: Rope vases
I have an odd confession to make. I do not own even one single vase. I use my water glasses, jars, bottles or whatever comes in handy to host all those beautiful buds I occasionally bring at home. Soda bottles can be an excellent vessel for beautiful bouquets provided they get a little remodeling. Like, braiding or weaving a thick rope around them. I love the result of this tutorial; nautical and fresh, just perfect for the upcoming spring days! You can see the tutorial at Style Me Pretty.

Living room couples
Let's play with couples today, shall we?
I'm in love with these acapulco chairs and I feel that the black sheepskin on top is just the right addition for the cold winter days. A round pillow, an interior plant (try this if don't have a green thumb) and some lit votives definitely make the scene even more cozy.

Oshka Design
I am smitten by the cuteness of these throw pillows designed by Anna MagalhĂŁes of Oshka Design. Love the pastel hues, the freestyle caricatures and the geometrical patterns that come along. Oh, and you can find the same illustrations (and lots more) on bags, iphone cases and ipad skins too!

Farmhouse in Spain
There is a good reason why I choose Mondays to be my house tour post days; getting my inspiration intrigued is an easy and effective way of getting things rolling again after the weekend. Virtually wandering through amazing interiors, taking time to examine all the design details, imagining myself spending time in the living room or cooking in the kitchen, caring for the gardens or waking up in a serene bedroom proves to be the best opening to a hectic new week.
This 150 year old renovated farmhouse in Asturias, Spain, is exactly my thing for today. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Oh, and happy new week loves! xoxo

Sunday bliss (around Crete)
I have to say that one of the most relaxing things to do is watching the raindrops hitting the sea waters. And that's exactly how I spent my Saturday; we went to Sissi, a small seaside village near Hersonissos on the north shores of Crete and enjoyed the winter loneliness of this touristic place, with only a few locals sitting at the cafe and the ducks strolling at the harbor, next to the fishing boats. We got the chance to see the first blooming almond trees on our way there. Such a beautiful sight they are!
How is your weekend so far? I hope its a great one! xoxo
