I have been thinking lately of how important it is to cope with my high stress levels. Then I bumped into the Satyagraha House, which is exactly the place I could switch off thinking and relax. There is no surprise about my pick as this retreat is the place Mahatma Ghandi used to live in at his long stay in Joburg, South Africa. Many years later it was bought and renovated by Voyageurs du Monde part as guest house and part as museum.
The stark and sparse decoration by Rocco Bosman gives place to comfort and mind unwinding while the natural materials, the basic hues and the delicate daylight that sneaks in creates the perfect scenery for long and deep relaxation. The renovation process has been very thoughtful over the old heritage principles, so that the new visitor can easily travel through the time and history of the place. Sound like a must place for a visit, don't you agree?
