Home office inspiration

I was reading Jody's fun article on working at home this morning and I felt gracious once again that I can work from my humble abode. It is the freedom of timetable, the slippers you work into and the chance to decorate it the way you like to mention a few (obvious) reasons. So, I figured, a home office oriented post would be just perfect for a hectic midweek to keep things bright. Here are my picks for what has to be the most inspiring spot in the house.

Extra bathroom storage is always a plus, especially when it looks that chic and organized.

Bonjour Poupette

Hello, little animal people! These cute polymer creations by Sofie Skein of Bonjour Poupette look like they've sprung out of a parallel magical universe. Even their facial emotions are realistic. And that fox couple, wouldn't it be such a great wedding cake topper?

Feel Good Photo 121029

I love the colors and the ambience of this shot. Feels like the autumn heading straight into the wintertime.

A modern country house

When I saw a photo of this home (the master bathroom to be precise) the other day on pinterest , I knew I was on to something special. So I went down the rabbit hole and found the rest of the photos at micasa and that was that; I was in love. The ideal place to steal my heart and host my dreams of my future life.

Inspire the weekend

I was drifted away, travelled far back to my childhood, felt like a fairy princess wrapped up in fur and sparkles, the world around me smelled of candies and marshmallows, joyful and careless while browsing through the catalogue of Restoration Hardware Baby & Child
Such a beautiful way to start off a weekend! Take care of the little child that lies within us and needs more or less the same amount of love and protection as real life ones. So, here's the plan for this weekend. Play, laugh, create and hug. And feel free!
Wish you the same my dears. Enjoy =)

I love the styling of this room. Cozy, eclectic, easy going, the perfect mix of retro, country, rustic and pop. And, the color scheme is brilliant!

Fluffy toys and cushy throws for the little ones, all on sale at One Kings Lane. Oh, please, these things are so tempting even for me that I don't have kids yet (how nice it would be to cuddle up my baby in one of these extra soft blankets!)

Tea and knitting

You can't beat the few good moments of a midday break, all dedicated to yourself, with a cup of green tea, a knit and the sound of sporadic rain hitting the streets..

A kitchen renovation

I'm smitten by this simple yet outstanding renovation of what once used to be a dull kitchen. The butcherblock countertop and the wooden panel splashbacks make a great pair with the whites of the appliances, the Ikea cabinets and the floor. The little details here and there, like the industrial bins, the open shelving, the desk lamp next to the range and the double cord lamps hanging from the ceiling create the exact handmade-industrial atmosphere I love to love.

A colonial house in the Hamptons

I can't say no to some modern cottage inspiration (especially on a hectic Monday morning like today), so here it goes.
This is a bright, well-attained country house in Bridgehampton, that contains all those details we love to love at My Paradissi. It is the ample daylight and the all green surroundings to begin with, the sleek back details that coexist beautifully with more textured elements like rattan, rough woods and soft linens, the industrial fixtures here and there and the spacious arrangement of the furnitures that really make this place livable and user-friendly. I particularly love the vintage desk with the iron tolix chair and the stark but chic b&w bathroom sinks.

Inspire the weekend

Hello loves, how are you?
I woke up to a still sunny sky but, I admit, I wish I could spend the weekend feeling cozy, just like the two shots above, while there was rain and chilly temperatures outdoors (hehe, seems like I really missed winter, right?). There's some work that needs to be done, so I'm staying in this time and enjoy the cocooning as well, despite the weather!
What are your plans for the weekend? xoxo

Brick walls remind me of old factories and high end lofts. So, I figure, they can work on a wide range of decoration styles, binding them all together in an industrial chic sort of way. It definitely depends on your ideas and, of course, the kind of space you're dealing with. High ceilings, large windows and wooden beams holding a roof are the accents that fit like glove with a brick wall but you can still incorporate a shabby look in your apartment by adding a fake brick wall or two. And, don't forget to play with the decoration elements; industrial lighting fixtures of black metal, concrete surfaces, leather and wooden furniture and statement art pieces to name a few.
So, what do you think of brick walls? Try it or leave it?

P.s. More brick walls here and a Soho loft with brick walls.
