New year's casualties

Saturday, January 21, 2012

This last day has been quite an adventure here, with my man breaking his leg (fell in really clumsy way, unfortunately..) and taking him to the hospital (hospitals are one of the least working social facilities in an almost deteriorating Greece). This post is a tiny break from all this, to wish you a nice weekend and good health above all..

  7. How awful to hear that, I hope he gets well soon. Well, I'm pretty sure his personal nurse back home will take good care of him!

  8. I hope by now he is better. It's never too late to wish "get well soon". As for Greek hospitals, during one of our summers in Crete my father fell ill and we had to bring him from Chania to Heraclion hospital. He hospital in Chania is new and reasonably clean but there are no doctors !! In Heraclion the hospital was terrible, but the heart operation was prefect. I still thank the Greek doctors for what they did to my dad. One last "funny" fact, the doctors were smoking on the ambulance... I swore I would never set foot again on Crete. 10 months later I was there again with my dad and 2-year-old girlie. I must be crazy ! Best wishes, Giovanna
