I'm mostly fond of having a fireplace in my house. Actually, if possible, I'd love to have one in each room. Ok, I might be exaggerating a bit (no, I'm not), but who can resist the warmth hues of the fire, the crackling sound of the burning logs and that divine smell of the protected winter (total sense trigger that fireplace, isn't it?). Ok, now here is my solution to this non-fireplace replacement; burnt oranges and natural materials, like rough dark woods and leather furnishings. I've had my home office painted in dark, muted orange (just small hint over here ;) and the result has been more than satisfying. Would you adopt a style on fire into your place?

You're killing me with the fireplace photos! I look at the non-functioning fireplace in our home and I want to throw a tantrum on the floor.
ReplyDeleteYes, yes, yes to a fireplace in each room. And why stop there? Let's put one in the garden too!
There was a time in my life when I painted mainly with a rustic orange colour. It gave a certain warmth, that's for sure.
I wouldn't say no to one fireplace in each room either ;)
ReplyDeleteHappy new years to you too!
Yes! I have done a very small bathroom in that orange color before and used rustic elements for decor. It is wonderful. We call it our "Autumn" room because it reminds me of the warmness of the trees in Autumn here in the states.
ReplyDeleteMorning Eleni! Thanks for your sweet comments. I wish you a wonderful 2012 and hope you had a fantastic days with all your loved ones. Do you have Christmas holidays until 6 january like we do in Spain? If yes hope you are also enjoying this week.
ReplyDeleteI love this fire orange. I don't use it often but I like in little touches and the warmth of this tone is so charm.
Have a nice day, sweet!
What a wonderful looking fireplace, it sure makes the room more cozy. Thanks.

It looks absolutely amazing, I think that itself can change the mood of the room.
