Just an ethnic touch

So, now that everything seems to be back to normal (with a new blogger interface to check out!) I'd love to share with you a few images with an ethnic atmosphere, thanks to the brilliant prints to be found on the fabrics or that carpet in the Dar Beida room (btw, aren't that built in bookcase and the corner spherical fireplace simply amazing?). Oh, daydreaming once again..

Table Vanities

I've always been fascinated by the idea of using an old, shabby, cottage style table as a bathroom vanity. Re-purposing in style, right? One sink, two sinks, stone carved or strict metallic dishes, that's your call, however (I still have a hard time to define what's best for me). I would definitely add some rattan baskets (never enough storage in one's bathroom..), a desktop lamp (to enhance the feeling of the table-like setting and add extra ambience around the place) and some plants to complete the country look. Oh, and don't forget to pay extra attention to the mirror/s (not called vanity by accident). I bet the above photos provide extra nurtures for inspiration boost.

Hey, Sun, please don't be shy

I might as well need 10 cups of coffee today (kidding..) to wake myself up and get my mind properly working but I deeply enjoy the silence and safety of my humble apartment and the sun that is trying to sneak in from the half-closed shutters not being aware of my intentions of putting this summer aside and down to my calendar notes and in my sweetest dreams.

Back

Already back from vacation, this last Sunday of August is devoted to a safe landing back to reality. So difficult to do, I mostly spend time on browsing through my bookmarks, catching up with the news and letting my summer and sun absorbed energy to settle down and become productive over the next following days (and weeks of fall). Like waking up from a whimsical dream, I mostly welcome the cooler temperatures and the first promising clouds that hesitantly show their pure, white face on the still burning blue sky. It's a good thing to be able to say that I really missed you and I look forward on hanging out together again =).

Beauty

Feeling in a deeper contact with my feminine side today, seeking of charm, softness and indulgence. More and more, each day, do I realize how important it is for me to be surrounded by beauty, natural or artificial, rough or tender, aged or fresh, unique and authentic nonetheless..

Dream villa

It was love at first sight and my mind is already drifted away by this amazing mid-century villa renovated by architect Damian Ribas in collaboration with interior designer Eduardo Arruga. It's that rustic elegance of the large scale, the mixture of sleek and rough textures and the harmonious ballad of hues dancing with the ambient daylight that sneaks in from the enormous arched windows that form what, undoubtedly is, a magnificent sanctuary of style and joy.

Oh, that kitchen..

Now, here is a post dedicated to the most neglected room of the house this summer. To be honest, kitchen was, is and forever will be my fave corner of the house, where I'd be happy to do many more things than just cook and eat (and wash the dishes, that is..). Unfortunately, the apartment where I live at the moment has a so tiny, tiny kitchen with no table in it and just enough daylight only to tell if it's day or night, that it isn't really a pleasure to spend time in there at all. Given the fact that a kitchen can become a very hot place while cooking, I admit I spent very little time cooking the last few months. I keep dreaming of my ideal kitchen in my perfect future home, with lots of free space, cabinetry and countertops, an extra large dinning table and ample, bright sunlight. Oh, and a large window with an amazing view to the nature would definitely fit the description!

Indoor calm

Today is strangely cloudy down here and I'm almost grateful for that- it's not easy to concentrate and work when the day is glorious and shiny (or extremely hot as a matter of fact). So I'm spending most of the day indoors and feel inspired by easy going, clean and bright interiors, those where I can imagine myself with an iced lemon tea and a good book to keep me company in silence and peace.
