Soothing hugs
Today I woke up with the taste of a really awkward dream I can slightly remember and that feeling haunts me all day long. At such cases warm nooks with soothing colors and cozy throws are more than essential to bring the desired balance. Have a great day, I'll be back more cheerful later on, I promise!

Living in an ex-garage
It is really inspiring to come across homes that are situated in non-residential spaces as one can see how the basics of everyday living are adopted in such occasions. Transparency, continuity and simplicity are the characteristics of this former ground floor garage transformed into a cozy and functional apartment in Paris.

Céline's eclectic kitchen
It was love at first sight when I laid my eyes on this renovated kitchen at desire to inspire. The wooded and inox cabinetry, the antique counter used as an island, the old letterboxes serving as uppers, the vintage ads and posters on the wall create a welcoming and cozy environment.

Just like in fairy tales, where opposites can make merrily couples, in the style industry mix&match decoration gives interesting and extraordinary results. Rustic and vintage, farmhouse and manor, country style and luxury, natural materials and shine and can all be equally part of an harmonious hole. Feel Good Photo 101126
"Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself; I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn’t arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I’m going to be happy in it."

Sleeping in retro
Today's inspiration comes from this retro looking bedroom decorated by Morgan Satterfield of The Brick House. I tend to like effortlessly stylish rooms, where everything seems to have been in place forever and this bedroom definitely succeeds in that. Go check The Brick House blog, it's filled with decor ideas and inspiring images.

WC room
Throughout my internet wandering I often come across rooms that challenge my imagination quite a bit. For instance, take a look at these WCs that have been treated like a living room with pictures on the walls, plants, lamps and even a sofa! Makes you want to spent more time there, right?

An old mill house in Wales
When I first saw this renovated old mill house in Wales I was instantly attracted by it's exquisite welsh countryside style. Owner Linda Cobbett literally transformed a Victorian old mill and stables into a functional home for her and her daughters and won herself the title of Best Period Renovation of 2010 as voted by the readers of UK magazine Period Living.
Highlights:
- The high ceilings and the large metal windows, remnants of the industrial use of the building.
- The natural materials being retained and restored, as the stone on the walls and the stipped wooden floorboards.
- The old drive wheel of the mill, used as a chandelier in the living room.
- The U shaped kitchen island, formerly used as a counter in a sweet shop.
- Vintage furniture and decoration collected by the owner in auctions and sales for years.

Stripes
One can easily describe them as refreshing, clean cut and straightforward (yeah!). Stripes can also be retro and hip. Get inspired by the above images and choose linens with monochromatic, blue or gray thin stripes on white background for an bit of navy and old skool touch in your bedroom.
