Brick on the wall

Thursday, September 30, 2010

I've always been fond of brick walls. They bring an instant industrial yet cosy feeling to any place they are being used, with their reddish, rough texture.

Loft in Lilenblum str.

Wednesday, September 29, 2010

High ceilings, large windows and antique floor tiles, this loft has certainly touched my soft spot. Check how the kitchen is situated among built in, low bookcases in the middle of the open space.

Feeling naughty? Think about calling you boyfriend over for dinner and surprise him with these new dinner plates by Dupenny, an English interiors company, based in Brighton. All the products are made by hand, using fine china and following the traditional UK pottery style. Visit Dupenny site to find more homeware products plus their unique, hand-screen printed, environmental friendly wallpapers with the characteristic, beautiful (shall I say playful) girls.

Eat and mix

I love the mix and match concept of these dining areas. Old wood, glass, metal and plastic on a plain, bright canvas.

Morning attitude

I guess Monday morning is not the best time to post about beautiful, beckoning beds but I just could't keep these to myself. Have a great week everybody!

Mix and max kitchens

Saturday, September 25, 2010

We usually tend to think of kitchens as bright and simple-coloured spaces. The above kitchens are some examples of an eclectic mix and match color and furniture, not the ordinary kind of way. Although, it's not what I would do in my dream home, they sure got my attention and thought they are worth mentioning. What's your kitchen style?

Brown leather

Friday, September 24, 2010

It is sophisticated yet cosy and easy-going. Give your living room an eclectic touch by adding a brown leather  sofa, armchairs or ottomans and combine them with rough materials, wood and metal.

How many plants do you have inside your house? Do you think there is room for a few more? Apparently, Rolf and Daphne, inspired by the East, couldn't get enough of  the greenery and have created a really extraordinary yet interesting place. Like living in a fairytale, indeed.

Wet earth

Cloudy ambience inside the house and the melancholy of the autumn pours. I love to hate this feeling. Oh, how I have missed it!

Summer never ends: a beautiful villa in Bali

With the temperature here in Greece still in summer mode, I couldn't resist this old, renovated house in Bali. Simple materials, colorful mix and match fabrics on a natural canvas and high, white-painted roof tops are enough to keep me dreaming. Oh, and the bathroom. I love the long, narrow bathroom with the bathtub looking lustfully promising in the back.
