Architect: Joseph Dirand

Sometimes beauty lies in simple forms and clean-cut lines. I'm definitely not a fan of minimalism but these spaces created by architect Joseph Dirand cut down the rustic elements to the very basics while manage to keep the warm feeling by using natural tones and materials.

I love the color of sun-dried clay and the natural, warm feeling it adds to every space that it is being used.

Casa Paulo in Sicily

Today we travel through space and time and visit an old house in Sicily. An ideal scenery to live a poetic romance like the ones in those old italian films. I love the fresco on the ceiling and the old purple fan in the first photo..oh, and the tiles. And the way the electrical cords are attached on the walls. And the aged green doors, and, and..

Built-in bathrooms

I love the rough feeling of these bathrooms. Stone, wood, natural tones and tadelakt finishes seem to keep drawing my attention. See my previous lust for this riad in Morocco and this house in South France

Into the woods wallpaper

I feel totally inspired by this atmospheric, 3D looking wallpaper. I don't know if I would use it in my bedroom as it is a bit spooky.. perfect for a few nights in a stylish hotel, though. What do you think of it?

Using same chairs in different colors is definitely a smart style do. They can brighten up any cold space and make it a playful and enjoyable place to spend time. Images via Fantastic Frank and Aaron Hom.

An apartment in Linnéstaden, Gothenburg

The more I search for beautiful, downtown apartments the more I come to this conclusion: Swedish people sure know how to transform an ordinary place into a stylish palace on a fairly low budget. This 67sqm apartment is located in Linnéstaden, in the center of Gothenburg, Sweden and is definitely worth our attention. Enjoy the pictures and feel free to get inspired!

Coastal palette

I love the combination of navy blue and the natural tones of beige on a white canvas. They seem to be the perfect way to keep the summer spirit in our house now that September is just behind the corner Images by Paul Costello.
