A farm house dressed in white

Saturday, December 11, 2010

When I came across this farm house designed by Erin Martin's team I was instantly drawn by the simultaneous warmth and coolness it brings out. White color and sleek surfaces usually represent lower temperatures whilst in this house the result is closer to a cozy and pleasant environment, even when it's freezing cold outside. Those fluffy throws, the large carpets on the dark wooden floor and the fire burning in the impressive, stone fireplace definitely play the biggest role in this feeling.

I wish I could transport myself to that house right now, curl up with a book and read by the fire place.
